A sinkhole developed overnight on June 27th and ended up swallowing part of a building that houses a convenience store and beauty supply business. The sinkhole is near Crosby Street and East Street in Leesburg. A public outreach coordinator stated that “It looks like a big dog came and bit off the southwest corner of the building”. By morning the hole had grown to 85 feet ?by 95 feet. In addition to the store, the sinkhole ate a dumpster, oak tree and a large portion of the beauty supplies. Luckily no one was injured but neighbors woke up when they heard the loud noise around 1 am.
